i forgot to mention in boston, well.. maybe the particular area we were in at the time but i'd say almost EVERYWHERE people were speaking spanish. so- when we were in the hotel, some hotel maid person popped in the door when i was doing my hair in the bathroom and i'm not sure what brit was doing.. the maid said, "toalla sucias?" and i'm not sure if brit didn't hear her or just thought she wasn't talking to her and i said, "she just asked if we had any dirty towels." then brit said, "OH! no.. we're fine." so the spanish classes i'm taking ARE assisting me to see what's going on with some other people. i sat on the bus listening to two little kids arguing with each other in spanish seeing if i could tell what they were saying and i think i got the jist of it- i told brit and she laughed and said, "really? *smiles* we'll just come to you if we need translation.." although i'm not completely fluent yet but i think i'm understanding more.
i think the second day we were in boston, we were walking out in the city and brit says to some guy, "she's thinking about moving HERE or new york.." and the guy looks at me and says, "OH YEAH?.. which city do you like better?" and i thought for a second and said, "well- boston is MUCH cleaner and the people are nice here. i don't remember seeing anyone fighting." i don't remember if i gave him a straight answer but i was trying to insinuate that it looked like boston had the upper hand. when i think back to when brit was taking me to the bathroom in new york and some little bitch was using the handicapped accessible stall and she didn't look like she was handicap- so there's a good chance she just took it because it was the first one she seen open- without considering IF an actual handicapped person needed it- i think i remember making a comment because i was irritated and brit said, "yeah stacy.. things are different than minnesota here.." (that's definitely NOT to say that regular abled bodied people haven't hogged the handicapped stalls IN MINNESOTA.. because i remember going to a few concerts and little bitches hog the handicapped stalls when there is CLEARLY NOTHING WRONG WITH THEM). after brit said that (but now that i think twice- it might have been another travel pca named carol that was in this situation?), the lady said snootily, "YEAH. THIS IS NEW YORK!". there's gonna be ignorant pricks EVERYWHERE. just have to deal with it- i guess.
